More About AS and A2 Level Economics

We offer tuition to students studying at school and college level. Courses are tailored to the syllabus and curriculum being studied and concentrate on study and exam techniques, as well as providing a good foundation knowledge of economic theory.

We have in depth and expert knowledge of the main examination board syllabuses for A-Level Economics and a working knowledge of the mark schemes. We know what a student needs to do, by when and how. Our Economics tutors aim to ensure a student passes their exam, obtaining the highest possible grade.

AQA Exam Board

AQA offer both AS and A2 level Economics. At AS level candidates can take the following units:

•    Unit 1: Markets and market failure
•    Unit 2: The National Economy

The aim is for candidates to develop an understanding of, and an insight into, micro and macroeconomics.

At A2 candidates can take the following units:

•    Unit 3: Business Economics and the Distribution of Income
•    Unit 4: The National and International Economy.

At A2, candidates develop their understanding of micro and macroeconomics by considering economic concepts and theories in greater depth and recognising the values and limitations of economic models.

Both A2 modules explore two contemporary and relevant contexts: the global context, which includes the impact of globalisation on UK economic performance; and the European Union context, embracing the effect of EU membership and economic policy on the UK economy:
